Early Antique American J.B. Owens Utopian Art Pottery Tankard Pitcher With Handle.
Dark brown and green shiny glaze with hand painted flower design.
J. B. Owens began producing Utopia Line in Ohio from CIRCA 1896-1907.
He went out of business in c.1929.
Marked with incised number “1015” on the bottom and “Owens”.
Artist mark on bottom
4 3/4” base W x 6 1/4” including handle x 12 1/4” H.
Very good antique condition. Some very light light crazing, not noticeable.
Also...There are two tiny flakes in the glaze on the very tip underneath the rim, and another flea bite, both of which I have shown in pics. There is NO CHIP to the actual vase, only the glaze.
Due to the shiny glaze this piece is showing some white marks that are light reflection and not defects.
