  • Condition: New, no package. It's a Lyman, but can be used for many other brands of scales. Photo #3 shows the comparison in size to an RCBS scale. For digital scales it's ready to go because they can be zeroed with any pan weight with the touch of a button. For balance scales you absolutely MUST zero the scale with any pan or hanger change prior to use. On most of the old scales zeroing is done by moving, adding, or deleting the nuts on the far right end of the beam. On later model scales like the Ohaus/RCBS/Lyman scales you need to open the pan hanger and add or delete the ballast weight (common lead shot) in it. You may not have realized it but if you shake your pan hanger you can hear the shot in it. This is standard procedure for calibrating scales of this type and goes back a hundred years.
